The Pan Hymnal is designed to offer the church steel band a selection of hymns to be used in church services throughout the liturgical calendar, and hymns appropriate for Epiphany, Easter, Ascension, Trinity Sunday, Pentecost, Advent and Christmas are included, along with hymns for Black History month, harvest and general worship. Most of these arrangements were made to accompany the singing congregation, although they can also be used as preludes, anthems, musical interludes or postludes.
